I think this office is excellent for low to mid grade psychiatric care. However when it comes to more advanced care for patients who do not fit their preconceived notion of illness, they are a little out of their element. Knowing that this particular patient needs a more advanced treatment, never has it been mentioned that the patient actually meet with the actual surgeon n staff psychiatrist. I believe there is one on staff. Instead, they continue to do the same thing they always do. The only thing I can think of is that they are out of their element. The staff, for the most part, is pleasant enough but sometimes do not understand the level of care needed for this patient. This is not to say they are not competent, they are but if the issue is of a more complex issue, you may want to consider a different office.

I have been a patient of this practice for nearly four years. I cannot speak highly enough of their professionalism and dedication to patients like myself. I have been to many other clinics and practices that do not compare. I have always been one to recommend this practice to others who are in need of mental health services.

I met Dr Amann of BMC Troy about 2005 when my child was struggling with crippling anxiety. My mother was a teacher in the Troy school district ( middle school) and so I inquired from her if the school knew of a good psychiatrist. She said that the school had referred students to Dr Amann. My child had a wonderful experience and with Dr Amann and her therapists there, my child flourished and felt 100% better! He is now 28 and very happy! Athriving engineer! I recently decided to see Dr Amann for my own issues with anxiety and I am feeling much better and doing well at home, work, and socially. She is extremely knowledgeable , articulate and cares about her patients. She is my teacher and my cheerleader. The staff at BMC is kind, attentive and makes you feel so welcomed. I just can’t say enough about how effective her treatment is and how truly comfortable I am recommending her and her team to everyone!

We are very grateful for the care and professionalism of Dr.Amann and her clinic. She is compassionate, attentive, and truly takes the time to understand her patients. My son has felt supported and respected throughout her care. We highly recommend Dr. Birget Amann and her team.

This is the First Place I would refer *anyone* to contact for ongoing care and help with their needs. It is one of those few places that have both: a pleasant and caring staff that works with you to accommodate your needs and schedules, and the caregivers who are also beyond pleasant, and make every encounter a wonderful experience. The Doctors have all been great with their empathy to help understand, keen recognition & insight for what you may be struggling to discuss or finding the right words. Every appointment has been one I actually look forward to having. The time spent with Dr. A has always been a comforting, clear and enjoyable experience; the communication is always clear and understandable for what information I need to know, the necessary parts of an appointment are handled very quickly, and the whole appointment is set up to efficiently handle the necessary topics quickly, and creating the most time available for me to talk. There hasn’t been an appointment, ever, where I didn’t leave with a more positive outlook, a better understanding, and that the administrative & medical items covered were left behind uncovered. The clarity, efficiency and the whole focus was focus

Thoughtful & Detailed I can’t say enough good things about Dr. Annan. Managing multiple conditions and medications can feel overwhelming, but she truly understands how to put the whole picture together. She takes the time to listen, explain, and carefully balance medications in a way that actually makes sense for my comorbidities. I feel heard, respected, and safe in her care—something that is incredibly important when it comes to mental health. I’m very grateful to have found such a knowledgeable and compassionate provider.

Lisa and Diana are wonderful. I've been going to behavioral medical center for many years and have gotten the right help. They are very concerning and I always feel good after a visit.

My son was a patient here for several years, and his psychiatrist was genuinely good. Unfortunately, the office staff made the overall experience extremely difficult. They were consistently rude, unprofessional, and had very poor customer service. We considered leaving multiple times solely because of how unpleasant it was to deal with the front office. The staff seemed to look for reasons to charge fees—attempting to bill us even when appointments were rescheduled with 24 hours’ notice, or when the therapist herself was running late and a reschedule was necessary. Any attempt to question these practices or address the staff’s behavior was met with denial rather than accountability. I’ve since read multiple reviews describing the same pattern: clients who raise concerns about the office staff are sent letters stating the practice will no longer see them. That is exactly what happened to us. Instead of addressing the ongoing unprofessionalism of their office staff, the practice chooses to dismiss long-term patients who speak up. While the therapist herself was excellent, the office staff ultimately overshadowed any positives and made this practice impossible to continue with.
